Biography
Julia M. Pluta is the Collection Strategies Law Librarian at Cornell Law Library. She began her professional library career in 2010 as Emerging Technologies Librarian at Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law, and served as Head of Reference at Texas Tech Law Library and as Faculty Services and Collection Development Librarian at University of Missouri-Kansas City before joining the faculty of Cornell Law Library in 2024.
Prior to her library career, Julia was also an in-house attorney for Fidelity National Title Group. She has eclectic academic and personal interests. Academic interests include: Mathematics and Statistics with an emphasis on social statistics, biostatistics, and stochastic systems theory; LGBTQIA+ law; neurodivergence and education; neurodivergence and law; legal history; and the intersection of law and emerging technologies. Personal interests include: writing fiction, poetry, and essays; board, card, and digital games, including game design; baking, especially various breads; astronomy; and reading, especially speculative fiction, historical fiction, and nonfiction science and history.
